Arkansas State Capitol
After seeing the ducks and blogging the birds in distress, we headed over to the state capitol.
It's a scaled-down version of the national capitol in DC.
Here are some photos from inside:
This is inside the Arkansas Supreme Court. I really like the tile detail along the ceiling.
Here's the tree from the upper lobby. It has a decorated ornament for each county. I wish I could have taken some shots with more detail of the ornaments. They were really nice. They appeared to be hand-painted.
This is the poinsettia tree from the downstairs lobby.
Here's the portrait of Bill Clinton:
Detail from the inside of one of the bronze doors that flank the front of the building (and my reflection):
The stairway to the House, decorated for Christmas:
This is one of the fireplaces from the governor's reception hall. There's an identical one opposite it (with someone else's portrait above).
And here's the chandelier from the same room. Note the detailing on the beams on the ceiling. Very nice.
And here's some stained glass on a door also in the same room.
The inside of the dome:
And would I be a mother without a photo of my baby?
