Heading out for the afternoon

Enzo and I (and Julian, if he wakes up soon) are going to Wal-Mart. I have a couple of items to exchange as well as doing the weekly grocery shopping. The roads should be mostly clear, since it's been above freezing for a while, and the sun is shining. I just peeked out through our blinds and there's still snow on the grassy parts of our courtyard, but the walkways seem to be pretty clear. I hope that our parking lot has thawed. It's been pretty much a solid sheet of ice for the last couple of days.

I don't plan on doing much toward spending my Christmas money today. Maybe tomorrow, since Julián goes back to work and Enzo goes back to daycare. It's nice to shop without the kid. I can go as fast or slow as I want.

I also have the task this week of working on proofreading/editing the book. It's been interesting to proofread the work of a native Spanish speaker writing in English. There are some things that I just scratch my head, mark the passage for follow-up, and move on, knowing that I'll have to ask later exactly what he was trying to say there.
