Spanish Word of the Day 14 October 2004 -- correr

Today's word is a verb, correr. This means to run. I can't believe I haven't used this before since I'm training for a marathon.

Here is the conjugation:

yo corro
tú corres
él/ella corre
nosotros/nosotras corremos
ustedes corren
ellos/ellas corren

No corrí hoy. I didn't run today.

How is the weight loss going? Are we down to the bikini Carrie yet? How far are you running each day? Are you still on track to make your marathon with no problems?

The weight loss is still going. My weight has been all over the place. I gained and lost 5 pounds over the course of 3 days last week. I'm still on track for the marathon. During the week I'm running 3 miles a day, usually on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and then I have my long run on Saturday. This week it's 7 miles. The length of that run keeps increasing until about 2 weeks before the marathon. There's a local marathon training group that I'm a member of that meets on the weekends for the long runs at local parks and such. I also have a friend who's going to run the next 5K with me in November who meets me during the week when he can. I'm not exactly bikini-ready yet, but the weather's not exactly bikini-friendly. If I stick to my plan and meet my goals, then Bikini Carrie will emerge just as the weather starts to warm up again. :)
